Overview

Our Apartment is an expansion of the concepts in the popular The Couch, rebuilding a lot of it’s features from scratch an adding a lot more.

Current Features (Donation Only Build):
Beautiful real-time 3D character and animations
Clothing customization of Naomi including sexy outfits and costumes like Werewolf, more coming soon
Customization of the male avatars colors, transparency, hats, face, and dick type.
Sex Sim gameplay with various speed and cumming options, groping coming soon. Sounds and moans that vary based on the intensity and Naomi arousal.
VN Style “Three Weeks” Animated and voice acted dialogue sample featuring an excerpt of the story
Modified missionary test dialogue scene and Updated Dildo Animation.

Final Game Features (Goals):
“Daily” gameplay similar to Teaching Feeling or Persona where you can choose various actions with naomi for that day
Story that takes place over a year starting from the beginning of meeting naomi

I originally expected to release this during the whole golden week thing, so I added some golden bikini items, both normal and tiny. So, enjoy those!
I forgot to mention this before but when playing in HDR mode the game saves ‘.EXR’ screenshots in the screenshot folder. So, you keep the HDR quality in those screenshots!
Gropes have been reworked a bit to be allowed in any scene I choose, for now that’s just certain sex scenes, pose mode, and of course SexSim. Remember this can be toggled in the “tools” menu.
This build includes Vulkan support, while DX12 is the target, DX11 has always been included as an option, but Vulkan can be useful too. Using the launcher you can switch modes; I’d love feedback on how Vulkan works for you! As this increases build size quite a bit I may not include it in the future.
Screenshot folder and “Panic” folder now have a fallback to the `appdata` folder if somehow `documents` is not writeable.
Range of minor improvements and bug fixes.

Climax Attempt
As mentioned in the last post “Cum Together” now triggers a “Climax Attempt” which is a state where one character is in the threshold, and they attempt to cum together. At the moment there is very little visual feedback, but this will come in later updates. For now, you can see it active with some text between the arousal meters.

I know due to the lack of visual feedback this will be strange for a while, so please keep that in mind.

Like I said earlier I was considering reworking the grope system and the poll confirmed that! So, I immediately began work and the system is now like 95% complete. This also presents some new opportunities.
For example, I think I may be able to support adding gropes to pose mode, and maybe making the interaction a bigger part.
It’s also feasible to support toys and such as well. As objects can be instantiated. I don’t know how far I’ll take this, but I have some plans.
At the moment the system only works in sex sim and does not have any mechanical impact.

v0.9.2

This is a short update; there’s nothing new in the way of features.
But the upgrade to Unity 6.3 is complete, and as such some performance improvements have been made.
Using some of the new features there should be improvements to texture streaming, and now broader LOD use.
The benefit in some cases may be small, in other cases larger. And some quality settings may look a bit worse (I’ll work on that)
But mostly memory usage should be A LOT better across the board.
The upgrade to 6.3 was actually done on the 28th of last month, what took a long time was managing to actually build the project cause I had a crazy number of shader variants.
And this was after I made improvements, was initially like near 200K
I figured it out and thankfully got the build time down to around 2-3 hours, this also improves memory usage. And made trying an android build quicker.
Unfortunately, as you can see here, I have not yet addressed the animation memory issue. This is a sample of the memory usage (in the editor so it’s not accurate but still) as you can see all the needed animations for the apartment scene are loaded all the time.
I might not address this, this month. we’ll see.
I think my next task will be the grope rework. Which I think it might be possible to include the functionality in other scenarios too…
This android build is largely a test, so don’t expect it on itch yet, there will be some polish after the grope stuff is reimplemented.
I’m also going to try OSX builds again…

Known Issues

• Noteable errors is occasional continuity issues between cinematics and dialogue, general missing FX, and incorrect lighting (largely due to time of day differences). These can be ignored for now
• Errors relating Naomi sometimes not looking at the camera when she should can also be ignored, there is one noted scenario where this looking causes animation clipping.
• In dress up selecting and already equiped item will not remove it
• DLSS and STP are currently disabled, only TAA available for now until I can solve another issue…
• WARNING! there is an issue with the game being played in languages other than English, if the game starts in a different language, please change it to english then reload the game to play.

3 new sex sim positions, these are not alternate positions they should all appear on the menu! What are they? See for yourself! Sadly these positions do not have new dialogue yet.

Foreplay and Conclusion Previews: These are non-animated scenes and also lack dialogue but they’ll give an idea of what will be there soon.
Nearly 60 new outfit items, including a new valentines set!
Naomi now has a different set of items depending on Act, still needs further configuring and some other features not activated yet
Conditional outfits! Now based on various factors Naomi’s outfit options will change. Currently it’s only one thing affected and thats Naomi’s horniness
Per-Object Motion blur, the best kind of motion blur, this is off by default and can be toggled in the settings. Brings more impact to the animations.
Lots of Cloth Physics! This is probably a bad idea; I look forward to screenshots of the physics fucking up…
UI improvements to dress up, and new icons (the icons suck I’ll redo them later)

• Naomi’s skin, and hair shaders have been updated! You can see the difference here, Left is old, Middle is New, and Right is the unity default shader. Main improvements is ambient occlusion, hair and specular lighting for non-sun light.
• Gropes and holds have been reimplemented for the first time on a basic level, unfortunately I’ve only configured gropes for cowgirl. Next update will have more. I this is functionality I literally just finished a day or two ago. Please forgive some issues with it though…

v0.4.9.L HOTFIX
Apparently rebalancing some stats stuff caused the weekend to play for I assume the first time in Act 3. And the evening dialogue for Act 3 was entirely disconnected. Apparently, no one ever encountered this before? Or maybe it was done recently.
