Overview

Crossed Signals is a character-driven, 18+ visual novel about swapping bodies with your college crush, or your sexy professor. Or maybe that bitchy, popular cheerleader…

Take the role of an average college sophomore who stumbles upon a phone capable of switching two people’s bodies… though he doesn’t know that. Whoever he calls will swap bodies with him, and it’ll take some time before they’re able to return to normal, if they can return to normal…​

Last time, Sam and Violet learned that they’ll have to get comfortable in their current bodies, with a next-to-zero chance of ever finding the phone again.

We even made a special runny mascara sprite for Sam to mark the occasion.

Oh well, life moves on. In the meantime, Sam gets to re-learn how to play video games, since she’ll never get her gaming memories back. Life is haaaaard.

New Story: Violetswap
This update was writer’s choice, and that means more Violet! Sam’s patience is wearing thin as he’s forced to impersonate Violet all the time, apart from when he’s around Eric. What a nice guy. What a nice, strong, handsome guy. What a nice, strong, kissable guy.

Violet’s Makeover Continues
Of course, Violet still thinks it’s fine to do whatever she likes as Sam, which means a new outfit. We affectionately call this her “ski movie villian” outfit.

Three new CGs
This includes a new intimate CG. Hmm, I wonder who’s giving Sam such a good time.

Danny can hold the phone
Alongside the new outfits, we made a couple sprite improvements. This includes Eric and Danny being able to hold the phone. Boy, doesn’t that phone look so right in Danny’s hands? I wonder if he’ll ever get to use it…

New Music
Our composer has been hard at work, creating remixes of character themes to reflect all these body swapping shenanigans. The SamViolet and VioletSam themes have been incorporated into this update, so be sure to keep an ear out!

New Story: Jennyswap
With the beach trip behind them, Sam and Jenny return home to prepare for the week ahead, as well as confront the full timeline of their swap. Exciting adventures like laundry and homework await.

Jenny Can Wear Pants
Sam is very excited about this development.

New Intimate CG Set
As a slow burn route, Jennyswap goes quite a while before any intimate scenes occur. Well, that ends now! We have a doozy of a six-part intimate CG sequence lovingly illustrated by Transformiss! Wow!

New User Interfaces for Jenny and Violet
Our UI artist has finished another set of character themes, which we were very excited to implement. Now, you really feel like a preppy mean girl.

Danny has Teal Eyes Now
One thing you might have noticed is that every character in this game has a distinct eye color, so when a bodyswap occurs, you can easily tell who’s in which body.
Unrelatedly, we changed Danny’s eye color from green to teal.

Eaton Mouse Joins the Team
The reason we were able to get so much work done on the user interface AND put out a whole story update was because we got some new help on the project! Eaton Mouse pitched in, animating nearly all of the new story content, letting Gunzil focus on other coding and writing tasks. This will hopefully mean more content, faster! Yay!

New Story: Robinswap
This update adds Robinswap, the fourth and final character route! Unlike the spicier Violet and Nicole routes, this one is intended to be on the sweeter side, so closer to Jenny in tone. Sorry, life theft fans. Accepting Robin’s offer to work out together, Sam decides to get up early and hit the gym. But when Sam can’t find Robin in the locker room at the agreed upon time, he decides to give Robin a call…

There isn’t much more that can be said without spoiling a very fun (and perhaps obvious) reveal, so we’ll leave it at that. This route is a very fun romp, so I hope you all enjoy!

Five Finished CGs!
That’s right, five! This update adds the usual post-swap PoV, a workout scene, and two spicy scenes to the game. On top of that, we’ve finished the “Jenny in bed” CG, meaning every CG in the game so far is now finished!

We were concerned about working up too much asset debt at the start of Jennyswap, so having all in-game CGs be finished is a huge relief for us.

Look at Robin lift those weights! He sure looks manly in Sam’s body!

Cheer Outfit Reveal??
That’s right, Hailey has been granted the honor of being the first to don the university cheer outfit. She looks so cute!

New Music Tracks
This update adds an intimate scene music track, and a theme for Robin. The former is nice and soft, while the latter has a relaxed alt-rock theme that we really think suits Robin’s whole deal.

And that’s all for this time around! We hope you enjoy what’s likely the final Crossed Signals update of 2024. It’s wild to think that it’s been 15 months since our first update. That’s both so far away, and hardly any time at all. Here’s to another year of bodyswap!
