As a new semester dawns, you’re optimistic that things will improve from the last—especially with Christine by your side. Yet, her allure doesn’t go unnoticed by others, sparking rivalries and challenges. Will you successfully fend off potential suitors, or will Christine’s fidelity face intense trials? ⚠ Important: This is a Systems-Heavy Foundational Update

v0.1 represents a massive amount of work since the demo, but I want to set expectations clearly — this is a true v0.1. The focus has been on making sure all the underlying systems work, so that everything built on top of them is solid. You may find the content-to-wait-time ratio a bit light, and that’s okay. Rough edges, unpolished UI, and unexpected bugs are all part of this territory. DEMO SAVES ARE NOT COMPATIBILE! There is NOTHING to grind right now. Once you finish Chapter 1 it’s basically just Confessly unlocks and random open world events. You can comfortably stop playing after Chapter 1 and Confessly unlocks.

Please report bugs and leave feedback in the F95 Forums or Discord. There is a lot happening under the hood, and your eyes on this are genuinely essential to making A New Semester everything it has the potential to be.

⚠ About the Early Release

I hit a frustrating bug during the commercial build deployment — one that never surfaced during dev playtesting — which ended up affecting a number of Open World events. Rather than hold the entire release hostage while I track it down, I’ve decided to launch now since all of Chapter 1 and the MSQ are completely playable, and patch the affected Open World content back in as fixes are ready.

Those patches will be free for everyone — I consider them part of the v0.1 package.

The full patch notes are massive (like, essay-length massive), so here’s the quick TL;DR:

It covers almost the entire first day of the game and ends just before the open-world portion begins.
