– Outfit Planner / Shopping / Beauty Overhaul – Smarter outfit selection, planner filters, bonus filters, tag labels, outfit carryover fixes, NPC guy outfit preferences, attraction from outfit matching, laundry-gated outfit bonuses, Bonwit Teller upgrades, thrift shop, handbags, maternity/household flows, makeup/nails improvements, and a large combo portrait/look asset expansion.
– Presentation / Appearance System – Big global “how you read to the world” system: professionalism, sluttiness, cuteness, classiness, style, face/body/outfit/makeup/handbag/hair signals, outfit text, compatibility hooks, and shared outfit context. This powers mirror/dossier/Looksy/NPC reactions instead of every scene guessing independently. This makes the game MUCH MORE INTELLIGENT at reading how you’re presenting yourself. NPCs can tell if you look like a bimbo, or look like you’re uncomfortable in your current outfit, or look professional. It’s incredibly deep and dynamic.
– Looksy: an in-game OnlyFans career path – take selfies and build a following in-game, just watch out because your audience may try to corrupt you This feature currently requires a local LLM (or can connect to openrouter), because you post captions with your posts, and you get comments you can check the next day! This is my first experiment with LLM stuff so just know it will get refined over time. My goal is to make something that ACTUALLY takes advantage of LLM tech without costing users money. The mechanics and gameplay of Looksy are all managed by X-Change Life’s actual code, only the initial interpretation of your post’s caption and the online comments are done via LLM. There are two primary LLM components – the tagger and the commenter, with a safety layer of code in between to ensure it can’t be cheesed . Your mileage will vary based on the quality of model used, but the game mechanics should stay pretty much exactly the same.

Engine — Harlowe → X-Lowe

• Harlowe has been half-gutted and replaced with ‘X-Lowe’, the name of our custom fork built specifically for XCL with aggressive performance optimizations, new macros, and deep JavaScript integration to support XCL’s upcoming open world features.
• All known slowdowns have been resolved, except on very niche / old devices. My “white whale” was getting Togashi to be able to play the Jade gym scene for 100 orgasms, which now can happen without any memory-leak related slowdowns.

Settings & Menu Overhaul

• Brand new unified settings menu accessible from anywhere (press 3 or 4).
• Settings now sync across all save files instead of resetting between saves.
• Color palette previews, organized tabs, autosave frequency controls, and cleaner toggles throughout.

Bug Fixes

• Dozens of bug fixes across the board. A large part of this is thanks to bransta61 who has done absolutely HEROIC work with optimizations and quick fixes.
• New in-game bug reporter that logs issues directly to GitLab with full context — mod status, game version, error fingerprinting, the works. I set up a Cloudflare API relay that receives anonymous reports, so that people do not have to share their details or make accounts anywhere in order to report bugs.

– Brand new sales demo for the Dumb Bitch pill (play it twice to get the second one, after that you’ll be able to choose which one going forward)
– Faptics integration – X-Change Life now sends complex and immersive haptics signals to sex toys & gamepad rumble! Just hook your device up to Intiface Central and XCL will become much more immersive. The rumble can sync up to minigam rhythms, sex, and even give hints for minigames like Cock Roulette by giving a countdown beat! All sex toy settings are fully configurable in the new menu with dozens of configuration options to fully customize your experience. I highly recommend you try it out, even if it’s just hooking up a controller as a rumble device and putting it in your pocket.

– The amazing Bransta61 has overhauled the sidebars so that they are consistent throughout the game. They are much nicer and make writing new scenes much easier, but it’s possible some mods will experience growing pains at first.

Additions:

• Ability to make “Extra Effort” in dice rolls for quicktime events. This way, you don’t have to play any minigame, and just have to watch the sex animation for 15 seconds for an increased chance of success. The goal of this one is to create the sense of “working harder” at something, while also helping those one-handed players have an excuse for watching the animation a bit more intently 
• New masculinity minigame “Cock Contact” – the old one is still available, but this one uses the same “eye contact” formula, and contains 200 unlockable test images, and 300+ lines of hypnotic dialogue to go along with it
• New femininity minigame “She-Q” – play for $50 if you own the computer. It’s a quiz game show that lets you increase your femininity – you’ll get a random piece of “feminine reading material” and get 5 randomized questions about it. Some are sexy, some are just important life skills for you to know – the idea is to be immersive about adapting to life as a girl
• 2 new compulsions – “Porn Addict” and an X-Change addiction
• New “Shower thoughts” – flavor text high-intellect characters have in the shower. Adding this was itself a shower thought
• Updated title & starting / loading overlay, that more accurately represents the loading state of the game

Quality of life:

• Overhauled Wardrobe interface, with filters and favoriting
• Updated mobile UI and experience
• Updated activities UI, including information relevant to the activity, such as how messy the house currently is
• Updated mobile experience
• Tooltips have been adjusted for mobile, so that if you tap-and-hold, they’ll appear, a bit displaced from your finger, so you’ll be able to actually read the tooltip text. This replaces the tap-to-reveal-tooltip interaction before, which didn’t’ work well since many of the tooltips are actually over clickable elements – giving you no way to actually view those on mobile.
• Rebalance to how coworkers / NPCs approach to allow a greater variety of interactions
• Ability to view trading card duplicates when selling at the mall

Technical updates:

• Overhauled audio library that is more lightweight, and less likely to blast a bunch of music at the same time and have overlapping tracks.
• Overhauled the game’s stylesheet, taking out some of the technically expensive animated effects, such as the background floating gradient. I’ve also dialed back many of the shadows and things that were a bit too computationally expensive to be worth it for the average user. I also added code to respect the “prefers reduced motion” setting in browsers so the game will be even less animated when that setting is turned on in your browser.
• Lighter weight tooltip library
• Reactive palettes should now work better
• Lighter weight achievement engines
• Rewrite of a huge number of Harlowe macros into pure Javascript for a performance boost
• Additional modding hooks for greater ease in modding, especially for bar girl mods

Bugfixes (only major ones – there are dozens of bugfixes in this build):

• Due to a bug, Alexia was interrupting masturbation way too often – now fixed
• Goodgirl max demo when completed successfully now finally gives you a better rep
• Company size at the job will now more accurately reflect the tooltip
• Fixed a few soft locks, such as when Alexia sleeps over
• Tons of other things, but actually it would be pretty dull if I wrote them all out, you can check the commits for more details if you want!

v0.22.0

Thanks for your patience as I get the first cut of 0.22 out. Needless to say this is the biggest content / gameplay update ever, including a full overhaul of the game engine, and it needed a lot of testing and iterations to get into a publicly presentable state.

Since this is the longest I’ve gone between updates, just be conscious if you’re running a modded build. This update should not significantly affect compatibility with mods, but if there are any issues, it will often be mentioned in the mod’s page on LoversLab.

– There’s a new car for sale at the mall, and it costs (just?) $10,000. But rumor has it the local prison is running a contest – swallow enough loads there, and you can have the car for free! Do you have what it takes? (go to the mall to find out more!) This is a huge sex scene with 50 randomly generated prisoners – quite a lot of cum will need to be swallowed. The car is drivable, which will later be used to explore the city map (coming in later update this year)
– Alexia is now a much more reactive character to the things you do in the game. 20+ new scenes have been added, where she reacts to lots of different things you do through the game. These things have actual gameplay effects, and she now has a new nickname system. For instance, if she catches you jerking off in your room, she might start calling you “Sir Wanksalot”, etc! There are over 50 different nicknames you can earn throughout the game…
– There is a new HUGE threesome scene between (female) you, Alexia and Bruce. In order to unlock it, the following criteria need to eb met:
– Be on the deal with Bruce by losing a bet to him at the bar
– Alexia needs to be dating Bruce by first getting his number, either by you failing at dancing, or when he comes over to fuck you and meets her. Sometimes he will immediately start fucking her, sometimes it will take a while since he’s fucking other girls at the bar.
– When Bruce comes over to have sex with you, there’s a very high chance Alexia will barge in – you’ll have the opportunity to convince her to join.
This threesome scene has almost 100k words to it (as much as some books), mainly stemming from the fact that it has a huge number of branches and variations. This scene can really negatively impact your relationship with your stepsister going forward. But at least you’ll have had fun 

 I guarantee you that this is the most insanely detailed threesome scene that has ever been put in a game!
– New “Girl Brain Training” minigame. In order to simulate your brain becoming more female over time, there’s a new minigame that challenges you with SUPER HOT pictures of girls. In order to win, you need to maintain eye contact. No peeking at their other “assets!” The way I enforce you looking at their eyes, is that I will briefly flash a word over their eyes at an unknown point in time – you won’t have time to shift your eyes up if you’ve been looking elsewhere – then you’ll be quizzed. There are 200 images with 800 different words, and also almost 2 hours of new hypnotic dialogue to accompany it. You can try it out as a girl, by pressing “Examine Yourself” in your bedroom. If you fail, it means you’re still really a guy deep down, and the game will treat you as being more resistant to being a girl.
– The game’s core engine has been overhauled to be much quicker and slicker. Everything should FEEL better, with nicer animations and be less of a performance hog for your browser.
– The game’s mobile UI experience has been overhauled, with sidebars narrowing and reorienting themselves for vertical screens (this could not have been done without the expertise of bransta61)
– The sales minigame was rebalanced, with better hints & tips, better weightings toward rewards, and improved mechanics.
– Lots of new achievements relating to the new content.
– Chloe’s amazing (voiced) “Bitch Box” mod was incorporated into the base game. Find it at the club!
– There are several brand new scenes for when you initially transform into being female, to make the game world react more realistically to you.
– New descriptions for femininity gain / loss.
– The game’s intro was revised with new images and text branches, especially for the “Jock” archetype. I plan to add more archetype-specific scenes
– Alternating between the portrait and outfit image is no longer with a dedicated button – just click the image!
– A HUGE number of UI and bugfixes
– The game’s build tools were completely revised and updated to no longer be reliant on Tweego. The game is built now with an entirely custom process that is much more efficient and flexible thanks to Orange, which will improve the modding experience of the game. It’s never been easier to get involved in writing mods, and there are now over 400 of them!
– New side effects added to the New-U – get creampied to maintain your transformation, as well as get creampied and get locked in your body.
– The ability to buy trading cards at the comic shop has now been added. This will help with the fact that you have to collect a full subset to enter the car contest!
– datdude69 has helped with refining the sluttiness levels of many of the base game outfits – many of them were unrealistically high for normal outfits.
– more varied work punishments when caught spiking coworkers
– Skill checks now have a full explanation of what is factoring into their difficulty, such as if you’re drunk/horny etc.
– New SVG buttons for lots of the game UI elements, which take the actual color palette of the game.
– Too many things to list here! Hopefully you will find the game just feels and plays way better as a whole. A huge thanks to the community contributors who contributed a massive number of fixes and improvements while I was stuck in massive-sex-scene writing limbo for a lot of the last couple months.

Added exhibitionist effects related to the extremely revealing dress that Bruce chooses for you at the mall.

I have integrated two big mods: datdute69’s Office Babes (which lets your male colleagues be both male and female), and stochastic’s NPC Pregnancy mod (which lets you impregnate bar girls) – note that sex scenes animations haven’t been integrated yet – they are just skill rolls. But you can download datdude’s patch which will be coming soon, to patch those animations back in.

I am not just integrating these, I am often adding to the writing of the mods, trying to work to make them feel fully integrated and match the tone of the rest of the game. I’ve done some of this but have some more work to do.

I have also added some new makeup mechanics, pivoting around a new makeup-related dream that should trigger early in your game, where you can decide WHY you are applying makeup – whether it’s because you have to, or because you want to. One option well actually prevent any masculinity loss from applying makeup, but the other will boost the XP you get from applying looks.

Additional descriptions during the Secretary minigame – mainly flavor text and new ways your colleagues tease you.
